Mark Angel Steps Down from Managing Emmanuella and Success Amid Allegations of Financial Exploitation
Mark Angel, the popular Nigerian comedian, has announced that he no longer manages the careers of young comedians Emmanuella and Success.
The 33-year-old revealed this decision during a viral TikTok live session, attributing it to his increasingly busy and demanding schedule. While some speculated that this change could be linked to recent allegations from former crew member Denilson Igwe, Mark clarified that his decision was unrelated to the controversy.
Igwe had accused Mark of financial exploitation, claiming he was not properly compensated for his role in starting Mark Angel Comedy. He alleged that he was not informed when the Facebook page was monetized and that he didn’t receive any share of the proceeds until 2016 when Mark gave him ₦50,000 after purchasing a car. Igwe also stated that Emmanuella was paid just ₦20,000 a month, despite the Facebook page generating $160,000 in revenue at the time.
Mark, however, assured his fans that his creative partnership with Emmanuella and Success remains intact, with their management now being handled by a professional agency. “I no longer manage Emmanuella and Success. They are now being managed by a professional agency because I have more work now and am too busy to manage them. But I still work with them,” he said.
Despite the controversies, Mark emphasized that his relationship with the young comedians remains strong, with continued collaboration on creative projects.
