“In 2025, God will crush the enemies of Rivers,” Fubara stated
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reaffirmed his strong belief in the omnipotence of God to vanquish the self-proclaimed adversaries of the state and its people.
The crossover into 2025 church service, which took place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Opobo Town, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, was addressed by Fubara yesterday.
He recited a hymn of gallantry, and the brothers joined in by singing the following lines: : “At the mention of your name (God), every knee shall bow. At the mention of your name, every tongue confesses. That you are Lord, you are Lord, you are King, you are King of kings.”
According to Fubara, the lyrics of the song were not merely consoling; they were also a call to action to inspire the populace to reaffirm their faith in God, who is the only one capable of guiding them to greater success in the next year.
“The Red Biro remains full,” he stated. It remains with me. A happy new year was extended to all, and it was stated that “every enemy plan will continue to crash.”
Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta, who presided over the service, reflected on the numerous obstacles faced by the brethren in 2024, such as attacks, conspiracy, economic hardship, ill-health, and near-hopeless circumstances. However, he emphasized that these challenges were never overwhelming.
In the New Year, Oko-Jaja warned those who are grateful to God for the marvellous works that have been perfected in their lives that He will faithfully uphold, deliver, and ensure that they continue to live victoriously. She also stated that God has given a new melody of triumph to that group.
In accordance with the major objectives of the state government’s 2025 Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development, he prayed for the State’s peace, unity, progress, and expedited development.
Praise and worship, choir ministry, and the inauguration of 2025 at midnight on Tuesday were among the service’s highlights. The air was filled with cheerful cries of “Happy New Year.”
Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Oko-Jumbo; Chief of Staff of Government House, Dr. Edison Ehie; and members of the National Assembly, Awaji-Inombek Abiante, Boma Goodhead, Anderson Igbiks, and Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Jaja, are among those who have joined the governor in the service.
Other notable figures included Senator Adawari Pepple, the former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro, Theodore Georgewill, Dr. Tamunosis Gogo-Jaja, members of the State Executive Council, some Local Government Council chairmen, elders, political leaders, and major stakeholders in the state.
