Burna Boy defends assaulting a fan at a concert in Greater Lagos, stating, “I have PTSD.”
Burna Boy has disclosed the rationale behind his decision to assault a fan who sprinted across the stage during his performance at the Greater Lagos concert, following the substantial backlash he received.
Burna Boy utilized his Instagram story on January 1, 2025, to articulate his response and emphasize his consistent stance regarding such circumstances.
He vehemently cautions against jumping onto the stage during his performance.
He clarified, “It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10 minutes and did almost one hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing. I had an amazing time with Lagos State last night. Don’t jump on my stage like that! I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year.”
This follows the viral video of Burna Boy’s performance, which captured the moment he kicked an overzealous admirer who attempted to enter the stage. Nevertheless, the singer continued to depart the venue and expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance, even after the fan was removed.
On New Year’s Eve, the incident that transpired garnered widespread online criticism and went viral. Nevertheless, a significant number of individuals supported the performer following his explanation.
“He has been quite vocal about his dislike for this stage jumping. He’s human too. Sad that these overzealous fans will still attempt this again. Nobody should traumatize my ODG, please,” a fan said.
