Teacher assaulted pupil for ‘6’ writing difficulty leads to police arrest

A video showing a teacher reportedly physically abusing a three-year-old kid at a school in Ikorodu surfaced, leading to the arrest of the instructor, according to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).

The video, which quickly gained popularity, depicts a female instructor slapping a student named Abayomi Michael, seemingly in an abusive manner.

A user by the name of Oyindamola uploaded the video to social media with the hashtag #dammiedammie35.

Oyindamola named the instructor Stella Nwadigo and voiced her horror at the occurrence, drawing attention to the perils of sexual harassment and assault in schools.

An accompanying caption stated, “Footage from Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, a teacher named Stella Nwadigo was witnessed mistreating and physically abusing a three-year-old boy, Abayomi Micheal.”

On Wednesday, the DSVA released a statement in reaction to the disturbing footage, expressing gratitude to individuals who had reported the occurrence.

According to the news source, the Owutu Police Force Special Unit detained the educator and launched a comprehensive investigation.

Schools should be safe havens for young students, according to the Lagos DSVA, who reaffirmed the significance of protecting children in the classroom. They vowed to take strong action against those responsible for child abuse and reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government to this cause.

Additionally, the agency reassured the public that it will maintain its zero-tolerance approach for abuse by continuing to work closely with stakeholders.

The DSVA set up a toll-free hotline at 08000 333 333 and also invited people to write them on social media if they had any additional information about this case or similar events.
