Four people were killed in a tragic helicopter crash in southwest Turkey on Sunday when the plane collided with a hospital while taking off.
Two pilots, a doctor, and an employee were killed when the helicopter struck the fourth level of a hospital in the city of Mugla, according to Idris Akbiyik, the provincial governor of Mugla. Authorities are still looking into the actual cause of the tragedy, but thick fog is thought to have played a significant role.
The chopper was traveling to Antalya when it took off in low visibility. The aircraft crashed into an empty field close to the hospital after floating in thick fog for a short while, according to footage shown by NTV television.
